Visit the Wharton Entrepreneurship Awards and Fellowships page for more information about these and other opportunities offered by Wharton Entrepreneurship.
The ''VIP Snider Seed Award'' provides up to $2,500 in seed capital per venture to assist University of Pennsylvania students in the execution of the initial stages of their business plans. Student program members must meet eligibility criteria to receive an award. Among these criteria is a requirement that students have been members of VIP for a minimum of one semester before they can apply.
The "Woods Award" grants $7,500 awards to entrepreneurs within the Venture Initiation Program who have made substantial progress in the development of their businesses. Money is awarded to those students who have exhibited significant growth in their ventures since receiving an earlier seed award from the Venture Initiation Program. Many of the program’s alumni have gone on to successfully bring their businesses to fruition, and this award is intended to enable many more to formally launch their businesses.
The ''Wharton Venture Award (WVA)'' is given to select entrepreneurial Wharton students to support them financially over the summer in lieu of an internship, so that they can concentrate full-time on developing their ventures. Students are not required to be members of VIP to apply. However, members of VIP who are Wharton MBA first-year students and undergraduate juniors are strongly encouraged to consider applying.
The "Wharton Innovation Fund" provides seed funding to innovative, scalable startups founded by Penn students, faculty, staff, and even recent alumni. It seeks to stimulate creative thinking about big problems. Students are not required to be members of VIP to apply.
Wharton Entrepreneurship takes no equity in the student companies for receiving any of the awards listed above.
